Dry The River

Here at the Sub, we go through a lot of trends. For a while, everyone got Cole’s curry for lunch, now it’s nachos. Then there was hand ball and ping pong. And for a fleeting time, $5 for 2 glorious blocks of Cadbury. Music wise, JM has been playing Kink FM non-stop, a Dutch radio station off iTunes. My good friend Alex, graphic designer at JM, boasts that it has the widest and most electic selection of songs. I begged to differ. It normally plays the same rotation of songs over and over again. Limit To Your Love by James Blake played for 10 days straight. I counted.

After what seemed like an eternity of non-stop playing, I was pleased to hear a new song play from Kink, one I enjoyed. New Ceremony by Dry The River has been my saving grace. A great London band, who remind me of a cross between folky Fleet Foxes and more rocky songs from Local Natives. They also have awesome beards.

I guess sometimes, you find good things in overlooked places. I’ll grudgingly thank Alex later.
